For 14 days and 14 nights, Jim Woodall has been occupying the rooftop of a building situated on the perimeter of the Olympic Games construction site. His makeshift home sits somewhere between a hunters’ hide, a bomb shelter and a security control centre.
Olympic State is an endurance exercise in spectatorship and an act of surveillance of both the ongoing construction site and of his own occupation.
You are invited to visit the rooftop installation on the evening of 29th November 2010, his final night, for drinks.
Should you wish to book a private viewing, half hour appointments can be made by emailing
